About

Dr A B Dey is a physician by training. Out of nearly five decades in medicine, he was a student for a decade and a practitioner, teacher and researcher for close to four decades at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.
Chosen by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, he was trained in Geriatrics at the Royal Victoria Infirmary under University of Newcastle at Newcastle upon Tyne, England under the prestigious Commonwealth Medical Fellowship.

In subsequent years he was entrusted with the responsibility of establishing old age care or geriatrics in India through support from the World Health Organization.

His untiring efforts led development of Geriatrics into a distinct clinical speciality in medical practice and education in India.
